Nice list!
Emily’s role at Kongregate is really more like COO - she could run it without me much more easily than vice versa. Everyone thinks I’m being falsely modest when I say that but I’m seriously not. About the only things I’m better at are programming and public speaking.
Any mention of women in social gaming needs to include the multi-talented Annie Chang, co-founder and Head of Product at LolApps.
Here’s an awesome bio from a Bay Area Girl Geek Dinner…
Annie Chang is Co-Founder and Head of Product at LOLapps, one of the largest companies in the social application space, reaching over 44 MM monthly unique users. LOLapps offers tools that allow anyone to create, personalize and share customized applications on social networks. Prior to LOLapps, Annie was a product manager at BitTorrent and an engineer at Adobe. Annie holds a B.S. in EECS from UC Berkeley.
I love this list! I’m excited to see how these start ups start stirring things up. It’s about time talented folks like the fabulous Terry Redfield are revealed. Go Gamer Girls AND go women of today being represented in the gaming industry. Bravo, Ladies!
If only I had the ability to write an application for face book, I could set myself up for retirement considering the amount of people using now and in the future. HHmmm, I think a career change is in order!
If you’re looking for startups in games and “social” games, Kimberly Unger is the CEO of the Bay Area startup Bushi-go, Inc. working on episodic short-form games for mobile and social media.
Im not a publisher of games but I am a publisher of content about games, especially for women! So good to see other women gamers out there! :)
I believe that Armelle Productions, LLC should be included, with Armelle Cloche added as a woman entrepreneur, CEO and founder of an interesting gaming company; See
