Stanford Gumball Challenge

The Stanford Gumball Challenge is a microfinance benefit competition sponsored by the non-profit Gumball Capital. In the competition, student teams at Stanford are given a starter package with a bag of gumballs, a $27 loan, and a guidebook with info on microfinance. The teams then have 1 week to start profitable ventures with their loan and gumballs ñ but how they choose to do so is completely up to them. At the end of the week, the student teams return their $27 loans, and distribute their own revenue in micro-loans to developing world entrepreneurs. In this way the competition fosters generations of entrepreneurs empowering entrepreneurs.
